Life Estate -
A present interest in property of a duration equal to a specified individual's lifetime, usually of the individual who holds the present interest. If measured by the lifetime of a different individual, it is called a Life Estate Pur Autre Vie (life estate by another's life). If the interest is in trust, it is called a Life Interest.
